Q2: Apr, May, Jun
-
Q3: Jul, Aug, Sept
-
Q4: Oct, Nov, Dec
-
-
Game Scoring: Standard USCF scoring: 1 point for a win, 0.5 points for a draw, and 0 points for a loss.

Player scores reset to 0 points at the start of every new Quarter

II. Pairing and Attendance Guidelines

A. Pairing Priority: Maximizing Competitive Match-ups
-
Score Groups: All checked-in players are grouped by their current Quarter's score.
-
Competitive Match-ups: Pairings are prioritized as 1st vs. 2nd, 3rd vs. 4th, etc., adjusting only for color and opponent-avoidance rules.

B. Opponent Variety Rule
-
Avoidance Period: No two regular league players shall play each other more than once within any single 3-round Quarter.
-
Quarterly Reset: Once a new Quarter begins, all opponent history is reset for this rule. Players from the previous Quarter are fully eligible to be matched again starting in the new Quarter's Round 1.
C. Color Allocation and Equity
-
Alternating Colors for Repeat Pairings: If two players are paired against each other in a succeeding Quarter, the colors will automatically be reversed from their most recent game.
-
No Triples: No player shall receive the same color three times in a row.
D. Handling Odd Attendance (House Player System)
-
The use of up to two house players ensures the playing pool is always an even number, eliminating the need for Byes.
-
Games played against house players count fully toward the regular player's score.
III. Tie-Breaking Procedures
The following sequence will be applied to the relevant 3-round or 12-round record to determine prize winners:
-
Total Wins
-
Wins as Black
-
Median Buchholz (MBH)
